VLX Seat Removal
There are two bolts holding the seat to its mounting bracket. On the 1995, at least, they are socket head bolts removed with an allen wrench. Mine fall under the seat each time I remove them, don't let that bother you, it's unlikely they'll get lost as they usually end up on top of the body work.
Once the bolts are removed, push the seat down and back while lifting, slightly, on the seat strap. There is a tongue that fits under the tank, and a catch under the rear portion of the seat that slips on the mounting bracket.
